Veteran welterweight contender Punahele Soriano will test the mettle of young contender Daniil Donchenko at UFC Paris on Saturday, as they’ll throw hands inside Accor Arena in France.

Due to his better pro record, Donchenko will be the betting favorite with -250 UFC odds, while Soriano, who’s on a four-fight win streak, is going to be the +200 betting underdog.

UFC Paris: Daniil Donchenko vs. Punahele Soriano: Prediction

I predict a decision win for Donchenko over Soriano because he’s the more powerful and accurate striker. The best weapons he’ll have against Soriano are the stabbing front kicks and stiff jabs.

Thanks to his kickboxing background, Donchenko is light on his feet and moves in and out of range. Donchenko also has an incredible pace and throws every strike with knockout intentions.

I think Donchenko will stun Soriano multiple times because he’ll be too worried about the front kicks to the body, and he’ll eventually lower his guard. But Soriano’s toughness and experience will allow him to survive for three rounds.

Daniil Donchenko’s Recent Fight Results

Donchenko was a former Naiza Fighting Championship titleholder before he joined Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2025. He defeated Matt Dixon in the competition to secure a UFC contract. Since then, he swept his three assignments in the promotion with wins over Rodrigo Sezinando, Alex Morono, and Theodor Berggren.

Punahele Soriano’s Recent Fight Results

Soriano has been with the UFC since 2019 and was also a product of Dana White’s Contender Series. In his last five fights, he recorded wins against Miguel Baeza, Uros Medic, Nikolay Veretennikov, and Ramiz Brahimaj, but lost to Dustin Stoltzfus.
