UFC Seattle: Michael Chiesa vs. Niko Price: Prediction

With his solid wrestling background and better grappling skills, I predict a submission victory for Chiesa against Price. The timing of the level change of Chiesa is still on point, and once he gets a hold of his opponents, he gets mauled or submitted.

I think Chiesa will use his striking as a decoy against Price to make him believe that they’ll be in a striking match early into the fight, before he goes all in with his wrestling and grappling. Chiesa is a savage fighter on the ground, and he opens up submission opportunities with ground-and-pound strikes.

Once Chiesa secures the takedown against Price, he’ll instantly jump on the mount and rain down the punches and elbows before he transitions into a sleek submission. This is the ideal fight plan for Chiesa if he wants to avoid Price’s elite striking.

Michael Chiesa’s Recent Fight Results

Chiesa was a 2012 Ultimate Fighting Championship winner and made his octagon debut in 2013. In his last five bouts, he recorded three wins against Tony Ferguson, Max Griffin, and Court McGee, while he dropped the other two to Sean Brady and Kevin Holland.

Niko Price’s Recent Fight Results

Price was the former Fight Time Promotions titleholder before the UFC signed him in 2016. However, he has only recorded one win in his last five fights, a victory over Alex Morono, and has dropped the other four to Robbie Lawler, Themba Gorimbo, Jacobe Smith, and Nikolay Veretennikov.
