UFC Seattle: Ricky Simon vs. Adrian Yanez: Prediction
With better boxing and faster combinations, I predict a unanimous decision win for Yanez over Simon. The precision and power punches of Yanez will give Simon problems since he doesn’t throw a lot of calf kicks, which can be a counter to the boxing of Yanez.
The only thing Yanez should be wary of is Simon’s wrestling and takedown attempts, because he likes to press his opponents against the cage before he changes level and goes for a takedown. But I think Yanez’s takedown defense will be enough to stop most of these attempts.
Yanez could also land the more significant strikes through counterpunches and the constant use of stiff jabs. This way, he lets Simon initiate the action while he patiently waits to fire his signature hooks at the right moment.

Simon was a former LFA champion who made his octagon debut in 2018. He has recorded only two wins in his last five matches, with victories over Javid Basharat and Cameron Smotherman. His losses were courtesy of Mario Bautista, Vinicius Oliveira, and Raoni Barcelos.

Yanez was also a former LFA standout before the UFC signed him in 2020. In his last five outings, he has only scored two wins (Tony Kelley and Vinicius Salvador) and dropped the other three (Rob Font, Jonathan Martinez, and Daniel Marcos).
