My prediction is a decision win for Yan over Gomes mainly because of the gap in speed. Yan is the quicker and more explosive fighter and this will help her land more damaging strikes on Gomes while evading counters.
Yan’s unorthodox footwork will help frustrate Gomes because she won’t be able to hit her. Although Gomes is the more powerful puncher, I don’t think she’ll be able to land a significant punch because of Yan’s movement.
Additionally, Yan overwhelms her opponents with volume, which forces them to cover up and be gun-shy with their own offense. Lastly, the experience will be another advantage for Yan, who was a former UFC title challenger and has fought far superior competition than Gomes.
