UFC Vegas 116: Rafa Garcia vs. Alexander Hernandez: Prediction

My prediction is a TKO/KO finish for Garcia over Hernandez because he has the better boxing combination and always brings the fight to his opponents with forward pressure. I believe he’ll be able to connect a solid boxing combination on Hernandez in one of their exchanges.

Hernandez may have the better movement and is a bit quicker than Garcia, but I think Garcia’s punches have more power, and once he lands on his opponents, they can feel the instant effect of it. Meanwhile, Hernandez often waits and sits on counter opportunities.

With a smaller octagon at the Meta APEX, Garcia will have the advantage in cutting off Hernandez’s angles and limiting his lateral movement, thus applying the necessary pressure to make him uncomfortable.

Garcia was the Combate Americas titleholder when he was signed by the UFC in 2021. In his last five bouts, he racked up four wins against Maheshate, Clay Guida, Vinc Pichel, and Jared Gordon, and dropped his fight to Grant Dawson.

Alexander Hernandez’s Recent Fight Results

Hernandez is a UFC veteran who has been with the UFC since 2018. He’s currently on a four-fight win streak with victories over Austin Hubbard, Kurt Holobaugh, Chase Hooper, and Diego Ferreira. His lone loss in his last five bouts was to Damon Jackson.
