The bantamweight matchup between Bryce Mitchell and Santiago Luna will be part of the UFC Vegas 118 card on Saturday, which goes down inside the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Coming off a successful debut in the bantamweight division, Mitchell will be the slight betting favorite with -135 UFC odds, while Luna, who’s still undefeated in his pro career, is going to be the slight betting underdog with +110 odds.

UFC Vegas 118: Bryce Mitchell vs. Santiago Luna: Prediction

A decision win for Mitchell over Luna is my prediction, mainly because of Mitchell’s elite wrestling. Mitchell can neutralize the punching power of Luna, as he’s expected to take the fight down to the mat.

This isn’t the first time Mitchell will be facing a heavy hitter like Luna, and he knows the repercussions of not taking opponents like him to the ground immediately. Mitchell can also transition to different submission techniques as a threat.

Luna may have his moments in striking exchanges, but eventually Mitchell will secure the takedown. Lastly, the experience will be in Mitchell’s favor, as Luna has only eight bouts in his young pro MMA career.

Bryce Mitchell’s Recent Fight Results

Mitchell was a former V3 Fights champion before he won the Ultimate Fighter 27 in 2018. He first fought in the featherweight division before going down to the 135-pound weight class. He had three wins in his last five bouts, with victories over Dan Ige, Kron Gracie, and Said Nurmagomedov, while his losses were courtesy of Josh Emmett and Jean Silva.

Santiago Luna’s Recent Fight Results

Luna is a young undefeated MMA prospect from Mexico. He had a 6-0 pro record before the UFC signed him last year. He swept his first two outings inside the octagon with wins over Quang Le and Angel Pacheco.
