UFC Vegas 119: Ion Cutelaba vs. Navajo Stirling: Prediction
I predict a TKO/KO finish for Stirling over Cutelaba since he’s the more powerful and accurate striker. Plus, he’ll have the height, reach and leg reach advantages over Cutelaba, which will be important in the striking battle.
Cutelaba’s last two victories were submissions, and Stirling should be wary of the takedowns and submissions that he’ll attempt. But I think Stirling’s striking will hold enough and keep the fight on the feet.
Stirling’s best weapon is his left hook and the calf kicks, which chop down his opponent’s legs and significantly slow down their movement. I believe he’ll be able to catch Cutelaba with one of his combinations and put him out.
Ion Cutelaba’s Recent Fight Results
Cutelaba has been with the UFC since 2016, but he has only won three of his last five appearances inside the octagon. His victories were against Ivan Erslan, Ibo Aslan, and Oumar Sy, while his losses were handed by Philipe Lins and Modestas Bukauskas.
Navajo Stirling’s Recent Fight Results
Stirling was a former HEX Fight Series titleholder before he joined Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024, where he stopped Phil Latu in the second round to secure a UFC contract. Since then, he has won four straight bouts in the promotion with victories against Tuco Tokkos, Erslan, Rodolfo Bellato, and Bruno Lopes.
