UFC Vegas 121: John Castaneda vs. Alatengheili: Prediction

I predict a decision win for Castaneda over Alatengheili because he’s the faster fighter. This speed will allow him to move in-and-out to inflict damage and get out of range when the Chinese fighter fires his counters.

Castaneda’s footwork will give Alatengheili problems since he’s going to get frustrated when he can’t land significant strikes. Also, this would gas him out as the fight progress, as the missed punches and kicks will take a toll in his cardio.

Furthermore, Castaneda can mix his attack with a perfect level change if Alatengheili overthrows and start to be aggressive with his offense. Even if Alatengheili has a solid wrestling background, a perfect timing by Castaneda in his takedown attempt will still help him secure it.

John Castaneda’s Recent Fight Results

Castaneda made his octagon debut in July 2020. But in his last five fights, he racked up two wins against Muin Gafurov and Kyung Ho Kang, two losses to Daniel Marcos and Chris Gutierrez, and one draw with Mark Vologdin.
