Luis Hernandez will be welcomed by Sedriques Dumas to the UFC, as he stepped in on short notice, and they are scheduled to meet at UFC Vegas 121 on Saturday inside the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Even if he’s the fighter who will have a full camp, Dumas enters the matchup as the betting underdog with +185 UFC odds. Meanwhile, Hernandez, who just recently won a UFC contract via Dana White’s Contender Series, is going to be the -225 betting favorite.

UFC Vegas 121: Luis Hernandez vs. Sedriques Dumas: Prediction

My prediction is a submission win for Hernandez over Dumas because he has the advantage in the stylistic matchup. Even though he steps in on short notice, Hernandez could take the fight to the ground and neutralize his striking.

Additionally, Dumas has suffered back-to-back submission defeats and three overall submission losses in the UFC, which is why I think Hernandez will double down on taking him down and maneuvering into a submission victory.

Hernandez should shoot for a takedown immediately because Dumas has incredible punching power and is always a threat on the feet.

Luis Hernandez’s Recent Fight Results

Hernandez is an undefeated prospect who joined Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this month. He was pitted against Hugo Guillo and secured his contract to the promotion with a second-round submission win.

Sedriques Dumas’ Recent Fight Results

Dumas is a product of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022, when he earned a UFC contract with a first-round submission win over Mateo Perez. However, in his last five bouts, he only scored one win against Denis Tiuliulin, three losses to Michal Oleksiejczuk, Donte Johnson, and McVey, and one no contest with Zach Reese.
