The opening bout of UFC Vegas 121 on Saturday will feature the women’s strawweight match between Vanessa Demopoulos and Yazmin Jauregui at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Because of her current three-fight losing streak, Demopolous enters the match as the heavy betting underdog with +575 UFC odds, while Jauregui, who’s also fresh off a defeat in her previous outing, will be the clear betting favorite with -900 odds.

UFC Vegas 121: Vanessa Demopoulos vs. Yazmin Jauregui: Prediction
With Jauregui’s speed and output, I predict a decision win for her over Demopoulos. Jauregui is the better striker, with more variety in her arsenal than Demopoulos, and she’s the younger, more athletic, explosive fighter.
Demopoulos isn’t known for being defensively responsible on the feet because she doesn’t move her head away from the centerline and leaves her chin up in the air, even when she covers up against a barrage of punches.
Jauregui can also frustrate Demopoulos with her blinding speed and impeccable timing. Even if Demopoulos forces a grappling and clinch battle, Jauregui’s strength should help her overpower Demopoulos and keep the fight on the feet.
Vanessa Demopoulos’ Recent Fight Results
Demopoulos has been with the UFC since 2021. In her last five bouts inside the octagon, she beat Kanako Murata and Emily Ducote but lost to Jaqueline Amorim, Talita Alencar, and Jamey-Lyn Horth.
Yazmin Jauregui’s Recent Fight Results
Jauregui was the former Combate Global champion before the UFC signed her in 2022. Since then, she has competed in five fights under the promotion, recording three wins (Iasmin Lucindo, Istela Nunes, and Sam Hughes) and two losses (Denise Gomes and Ketlen Souza).
