Week 12 of the college football schedule is here, and the season flew by. We’re fast approaching conference championship games and bowl season, but there are still a few more juicy regular-season games left to play.

This week, the college football odds benefit the favorites. So which are the best college football picks this week? Read on to find out.

Houston (-9.5) vs. Memphis

This week, Dana Holgorsen leads his Cougars to battle against a fledgling Memphis team that’s been unable to recapture the magic of their 2019 12 win campaign.

Houston plays Holgorsen’s high-flying offense. Quarterback Clayton Tune throws to a trio of deadly receivers led by Nathaniel Dell.

Offensive firepower is Holgorsen’s calling card. However, what’s intriguing about this Houston team is its defense. They rank top ten in total yards allowed and rushing yards.

The Memphis Tigers’ weak spot is their one-dimensional offense. Despite averaging 451.2 yards per game, Memphis scores only 31.5 points a game. They gain a lot but cannot convert in the red zone when it matters.

Memphis cannot run the ball. Last week, RB Brandon Thomas gained only eight yards on four carries. The veteran offensive line lacks the talent to create consistent holes.

I expect Houston to bully the Tiger attack in the trenches all night. Memphis will continue to have trouble scoring points, and the Cougars’ offense will score plenty.

Oklahoma (-4) vs. Iowa State

Did Oklahoma blow its chance at a College Football Playoff spot? Only time will tell. They’ll need some breaks, but they can make their case this week with a resounding win against Iowa State.

I believe this spot favors Oklahoma at home. The Sooners know their post-season future is on the line, and Lincoln Riley will have his team ready.

Despite last week’s QB controversy, the Sooners will put freshman Caleb Williams back under center. And why not? With Williams, opposing defenses held Oklahoma under 30 points only three times this season.

Don’t sleep on Iowa State’s rushing attack and defense. RB Breece Hall leads the Big 12 in rushing touchdowns (14). He’s also rushed for 1,172 yards.

Defensive ends Will McDonald and Eyioma Uwazurike are a fearsome pass-rushing tandem, combining for 17.5 sacks.

While Iowa State will attempt to control the game on the ground, Oklahoma doesn’t need a lot of time to score.

Iowa State should keep the game close through the first half but won’t have an answer for a potent Oklahoma offense. As a result, this -4 spread is one of the best college football picks this week.

Notre Dame (-15.5) vs. Georgia Tech

Don’t look now, but the Fighting Irish are back in the playoff hunt. Did you expect anything less in Week 12 of the NCAA football schedule?

Anybody who follows college football betting knows the Irish are hot. After a loss against Cincinnati, the Irish rebounded with five straight wins ATS.

Now they face a struggling Georgia Tech team that’s on a four-game losing streak. Tech doesn’t have trouble scoring points, but they can’t stop opponents from scoring. They rank 117th in the NCAA for passing yards allowed (271.9).

While a spread over two touchdowns is high, Notre Dame QB Jack Coan should exploit Georgia Tech’s weak pass defense.

I expect similar results to last week’s rout against Virginia, where Notre Dame scored an easy 28 points.

The Best College Football Picks This Week

Will this season end with Oklahoma or Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff? It depends on what happens this week, but these three games represent the best college football picks this week.
