For my Dream vs. Wings prediction, I like the over on Angel Reese’s assist prop at 2.5. I also like the plus-money price on over 3.5 assists in the alternate market.
Reese, who was traded to the Dream from the Chicago Sky in the offseason, finished with two assists in her debut with her new team. Yet I expect her to have better results tonight.
For one, as reflected by the full-game total, this will be an uptempo matchup. The Wings and Indiana Fever combined for 211 points in Saturday’s season opener. And the total for Tuesday’s battle between Dallas and Atlanta is even higher.
Assuming this game is a track meet, Reese will have more opportunities as a passer. She’s in the most favorable situation of her career, surrounded by capable shooters that she can find on kick-out passes following rebounds.
Per Props Madness, Reese had seven potential assists in her first regular-season game with the Dream. Typically, a player converts about 50% of their potential assists, suggesting Reese is due for some positive regression.
In addition, Reese averaged 4.1 assists last year with the Sky and cleared this line in 16 of her 21 games.
