The Indiana Fever get their first road test of the season when they travel to face the Los Angeles Sparks. Tipoff is 10:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on USA Network.
Both teams struggled defensively in season-opening losses over the weekend. Indiana suffered a 107-104 loss to the Dallas Wings on Saturday, while Los Angeles got crushed in a 105-78 defeat to the Las Vegas Aces.
Fever vs. Sparks Prediction: Wednesday, May 13
- Caitlin Clark over 19.5 points
As of this writing, there aren’t any player props available at BetMGM. But I’m interested in the over on Caitlin Clark’s scoring line, especially if it’s listed at 19.5 as it was in Game 1 on Saturday.
Clark cleared the scoring total with a 20-point performance, and it honestly felt like a disappointment. She went 7-for-18 from the floor, including 2-of-9 from long range. If she shot better from the field, it could have been a big night.
In 2025, Clark was limited to just 13 games due to health. She never seemed right, averaging 16.5 points per game and failing to clear this line in her final seven contests. But I think that has caused people to forget how dynamic Clark can be on offense.
As a rookie in 2024, Clark averaged 22.3 points and cleared this scoring line in 61.9% of her games. For what it’s worth, Clark scored 54 total points in her last two head-to-head meetings with the Sparks.
If the opener was any indication, the Sparks could be in a lot of high-scoring matchups again this year. But the same is true for the Fever as well, which is why Wednesday’s total is the highest over/under on the young season.
With a projected track meet on deck, I love the idea of backing Clark to come through as a scorer.
