The Portland Fire have a win total of 11.5 at the BetMGM online sportsbook heading into the 2026 WNBA season.

Portland has the lowest WNBA odds win total in the league entering its first season as a WNBA franchise.

Portland Fire Over/Under Wins 2026

  • Over 11.5 wins: -105
  • Under 11.5 wins: -125

Portland Fire Win Total Prediction

  • Pass, but prefer under 11.5 wins

I don’t see any reason to touch Portland’s low win total (11.5), but it’s easy to see a world in which this team struggles in Year 1.

The Fire prioritized a long-term approach in their first offseason. They selected international prospects Iyana Martín Carrión (No. 7) and Frieda Bühner (No. 17) with their first two draft picks.

In the expansion draft, Portland used its top pick to land Bridget Carleton from the Minnesota Lynx. The 6-foot-2 forward averaged 6.5 points and 3.6 rebounds in 44 starts last year, but I’m not sure how she will perform as a top option.

Carla Leite and Lexi Held could be thrust into starting roles in the Portland backcourt after coming off the bench in their rookie season for the Golden State Valkyries and Phoenix Mercury, respectively.

Emily Engstler, a first-round pick in 2022, is hoping to make the most of her first real shot as a key contributor.

That’s the great thing about getting so many expansion teams: It creates new opportunities for players who haven’t been able to carve out a role.

Golden State has set a high bar for everyone, becoming the first expansion team to make the postseason in its debut season. The Valkyries won 23 games last year, clearing their single-digit win total.

The market has adjusted a bit to give the Fire more respect, but on-court success is supposed to be difficult for expansion teams. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Fire end the year with the worst record in the league.
