Lynx vs. Wings Prediction: WNBA Picks for Thursday, May 14

Welcome BonusBetting Promos

After dropping their home opener, the Dallas Wings hope to get back in the win column when they welcome the Minnesota Lynx to town on Thursday.

Dallas is a 3.5-point favorite, with an over/under of 178.5. Get my Lynx vs. Wings prediction based on the latest WNBA odds ahead of tipoff at 8 p.m. ET in College Park Center on Amazon Prime:

Lynx vs. Wings Prediction: Thursday, May 14

  • Paige Bueckers over 18.5 points

As of this writing, there aren’t any player props available at BetMGM. But I’m interested in the over on Paige Bueckers’ scoring line, especially if it drops to 18.5 after being 19.5 the last two games.

Bueckers hasn’t been aggressive enough to start her second season. She has an 18.1% usage rating through two games, which ranks fifth among key Dallas contributors thus far. As a rookie, Bueckers had a team-best 24.1% usage rating.

The Wings certainly have more talent than they did in 2025, but Bueckers is their best player, and this offense should run through her. I expect head coach Jose Fernandez, someone I backed in the WNBA Coach of the Year odds race, to make that adjustment.

Even with her reduced usage, Bueckers scored 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting in the season opener against the Indiana Fever. She followed that up by going 5-for-12 in a 15-point performance against the Atlanta Dream last time out.

The Dream can make life difficult for opposing guards with their perimeter defense. Indiana’s Sophie Cunningham is a pesky on-ball defender as well. But Minnesota might be a softer matchup, especially with Napheesa Collier sidelined to start the year.

Bueckers should look to attack rookie guard Olivia Miles in the pick-and-roll as much as possible. The Lynx’s defensive rating of 104.2 ranks eighth thus far.

I’ll back Bueckers’ discounted player prop as my favorite Lynx vs. Wings prediction on Thursday.

Prediction: Paige Bueckers over 18.5 points
