The 2026 WNBA trade deadline is just around the corner, with teams having until 3 p.m. ET on Sunday to make a move.
After agreeing to a record-setting CBA last offseason, it will be interesting to see if that affects a trade deadline that has been relatively quiet in the past. There were only five in-season trades made last year. However, teams are now making decisions with significant financial implications.
With that in mind, I’ve put together a list of some of the top candidates who could be traded this summer:

Kelsey Plum
After trading the No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft (which turned into Dominique Malonga) for Kelsey Plum, it seems wild that the Sparks would sell their franchise player, especially while she’s sidelined with an injury. However, the Sparks recently fired their general manager and may be looking to rebuild.
Trading Plum could serve as a nice start for a rebuild. She’s one of the most dynamic scorers in the league. But at 31 and a free agent next offseason, it might be best for Plum to go to a contender.
Nneka Ogwumike
If the Sparks move Plum, they have to be open to offers for Nneka Ogwumike, who is 36 and set to return to free agency in the offseason. Ogwumike is as reliable as it gets, and any team would be lucky to add her to their lineup.
Skylar Diggins
It seems like just a matter of time before the Chicago Sky trade away Skylar Diggins, who signed a two-year deal this past offseason. Diggins, 35, voiced her displeasure online after being moved to the bench.
If a team can offer her a bigger role, she’s a proven playoff contributor.
Betnijah Laney-Hamilton
After playing a key role in the New York Liberty’s championship in 2024, Liberty guard Betnijah Laney-Hamilton missed the entire 2025 campaign. She’s clearly not the same player, as her role has been greatly reduced. But I could see a team tempted by her as a rental piece for some wing depth.
Natisha Hiedeman
After coming off the bench for the last two seasons with the Minnesota Lynx, Natisha Hiedeman has taken her game to another level as a starter with the Seattle Storm. She’s averaging a career high in points and assists. With 1.5 years left of team control, Hiedeman could fetch a solid return for Seattle.
Natasha Cloud
There wasn’t much of a market for Natasha Cloud in free agency before she inked a one-year deal with the Sky. At 34, Cloud shouldn’t be viewed as a difference-maker. But she offers a cheap way for a playoff team to add some perimeter defense.
Maddy Siegrist
The Dallas Wings will have a pair of restricted free agents next offseason between Maddy Siegrist and Awak Kuier. Since they recently moved Kuier to the starting lineup, I wouldn’t be surprised if they entertain offers for Siegrist. The 26-year-old forward is averaging the fewest minutes of her career since her rookie season.
Isabelle Harrison
Forward Isabelle Harrison has made the most of her first season with the Toronto Tempo, averaging a career high in points and rebounds. But she’s also 32 and set to hit free agency, so the Tempo could be open to offers to help improve their foundation as an expansion franchise.
