Unlike the NBA, the WNBA requires players to complete their college eligibility before turning pro, so most rookies enter the league at around 22.

That’s what makes the Seattle Storm’s frontcourt so remarkable. Dominique Malonga was the youngest player in the league during her 2025 rookie season, and she only ceded that distinction in 2026 when the Storm drafted yet another 19-year-old post player, Awa Fam.
