The Chicago Sky have a win total of 18.5 at the BetMGM online sportsbook ahead of the 2026 WNBA season.

Despite trading away Angel Reese, the WNBA odds market believes Chicago will improve following its 10-win campaign.

Chicago Sky Over/Under Wins 2026

  • Over 18.5 wins: -120
  • Under 18.5 wins: -110

Chicago Sky Win Total Prediction

  • Under 18.5 wins

I like the under on the Sky’s win total (18.5) entering the 2026 WNBA season.

On paper, it’s easy to be talked into Chicago’s improvement. After trading away Reese, the Sky put together a competitive team by adding Rickea Jackson, Skylar Diggins, and Jacy Sheldon.

The motivation for the Sky’s aggression this offseason is clear. After giving away their first-round pick in 2026 (which turned into Olivia Miles), they could swap next year’s Round 1 selections with the Washington Mystics.

For what it’s worth, the Sky have a win total of 18.5 and the Mystics have an over/under of 17.5. So, it could be a close one.

But it’s important to start with the Reese part of this process. Whether or not it was Reese or the Sky’s decision to make the trade, the reality is that her presence will be missed. Reese was an All-Star in each of her first two seasons, averaging nearly 13 rebounds per game and providing superb defense.

The next move the Sky made was trading Ariel Atkins for Jackson. With Reese and Atkins off the team, it’s difficult to argue that Chicago will be better defensively. And this team ranked last in defensive rating in 2025.

Diggins was a major get for the Sky, but she’s also 35 years old and hasn’t made an All-WNBA team since 2022. She simply can’t be asked to be the No. 1 option, so that pressure likely falls on third-year center Kamilla Cardoso or Jackson.

If Cardoso or Jackson takes a major step, the Sky could be in the hunt for a playoff spot. But it’s also possible that players struggle to figure out their roles, and Chicago is staring down its fourth straight losing campaign.

There is plenty of variance with this team, but recent history suggests it’s better to have lower expectations.
