A spot in the semifinals will be on the line when the No. 2 Golden State Valkyries host the No. 7 Dallas Wings for Game 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Friday at Chase Center in San Francisco on ESPN2.

The market expects a bounce-back performance from the Valkyries. They are 7.5-point favorites in Game 3 following their overtime loss at Dallas in Game 2.
Rather than touch an inflated spread, I like the Valkyries to control this game from start to finish en route to their first postseason series victory. The Valkyries have been an elite first-half team all year, especially at home where they have a passionate fan base behind them.
Golden State led the WNBA in first-half net rating during the regular season, posting +17.3. That mark improved to +21.4 in the first half of home contests.
At the same time, the Wings struggle to get stops on the road. Their road defensive rating ranked 14th out of 15 teams during the regular season.
That combination led to a predictable Game 1 script, where Golden State scored 37 second-quarter points to take a 58-31 lead over Dallas at halftime. The Valkyries cruised to a 104-80 win.
The Wings responded at home to even the series with a 108-100 overtime win, but the Valkyries admitted they were disappointed in their defensive effort. I expect an inspired start from Golden State on Friday.
