Who Will Win the WNBA 3-Point Contest in 2026?
Azzi Fudd is the deserving favorite to win the WNBA’s 3-point contest on Friday night. Her +190 price tag suggests an implied probability of 34.48%.
Fudd, who was selected No. 1 overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Wings, is an elite shooter. She has the quickest and purest release in the league. She’s averaging two 3-pointers per contest on 38.7% shooting from distance.
Despite being a rookie, Fudd is well-equipped to succeed in this event. At 15 years old, Fudd became the first female hooper to attend Stephen Curry’s camp. And she proceeded to defeat all the male participants in the 3-point contest.
As a result, Fudd is the rightful favorite to win tonight’s 3-point contest in Chicago. She’d even be my pick if odds weren’t involved. But I also don’t like the idea of backing someone at a +190 price tag, especially considering no rookie has ever won the 3-point contest.
For better value, I prefer the odds on Atlanta Dream wing Rhyne Howard (+600) and Golden State Valkyries wing Janelle Salaün (+450) entering tonight’s event.
Howard averages 3.2 3-pointers on 35.4% shooting for Karl Smesko’s system in Atlanta. Howard is the only rookie to reach the finals in the 3-point contest, losing to Allie Quigley in 2022.
Salaün, meanwhile, is the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year odds favorite in her second season. She’s averaging 2.5 3-pointers per contest on a 39.4% clip, including even better efficiency from either corner.
While Fudd is destined to win this event at some point in her career, I’d prefer to back Howard or Salaün tonight.
