With the 2026 WNBA campaign on deck, betting odds on teams to make or miss the playoffs are now available at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

How Many Teams Make the WNBA Playoffs?

Eight teams make the first round of the WNBA playoffs. The first round will feature a three-game series, with the higher seed hosting Games 1 and 3.

The WNBA Finals moved to a seven-game series in 2025. The higher seed will host Games 1, 2, 5, and 7, while the lower seed will host Games 3, 4, and 6. The semifinal round will remain a five-game series (2-2-1), while the first round will be a best-of-three series (1-1-1).
