  • Algeria is predicted to be a 0.5-goal favorite against Jordan.
  • Algeria lost 3-0 to Argentina on Matchday 1, ending a four-match unbeaten run.
  • My Algeria vs Jordan prediction is the Jordan Goal Line (+0.5, +130).

Algeria and Jordan clash for the third-place spot in Group G on Monday in San Francisco.

The former suffered a 3-0 defeat to current World Cup holders Argentina on Matchday 1. Lionel Messi scored a hat trick as Algeria failed to register a shot on target.

Jordan suffered a 3-1 defeat against Austria as a similarly priced underdog. The 2026 World Cup debutants have now lost four of its last five matches.

Jordan vs Algeria Prediction

Based on Jordan’s misleading scoreline against Austria and Algeria’s lack of recent experience as a favorite, my Algeria vs Jordan prediction is the Jordan Spread (+0.5, +130).

Algeria moving from a +550 underdog against Argentina to a -175 favorite feels like too much respect off the top.

Although both teams ran unlucky in Matchday 1, I left the opening matches more impressed by Jordan.

Algeria lost 3-0 with a -0.94 expected goal differential and -2.22 post-shot xGDiff. Jordan fell 3-1 despite a -1.23 xGDiff and a -0.11 post-shot xGDiff.

But Jordan conceded an own goal on 76 minutes and a penalty kick in second-half stoppage time. From open play, Austria generated a mere 0.9 xG and 0.7 post-shot xG.

According to ELO ratings, Austria offers way more quality compared to Algeria. As of June 17, the UEFA side ranks 20th in the standings compared to 33rd for Algeria.

While Jordan has dropped all three points in four of the last five, they’ve placed themselves into matches against good competition.

Here are those four losses: Austria, Colombia, Switzerland and Morocco. In their last set of competitive matches at the Arab Cup, they won five of six before losing to Morocco.

I question whether the Algeria attack generates enough chances to justify this price tag. Accordingly, I predict Jordan walks away with either a win or draw in San Francisco.
