  • Brazil (-625) is predicted to win Group C at the 2026 World Cup.
  • Morocco, semifinalists in 2022, are +500 to steal the group from Brazil.
  • I predict Morocco (+500) wins the group due to an inconsistent Brazil defense.

Below, bettors can find World Cup odds for the Group C winner.

Most Likely to Win Group C at 2026 FIFA World Cup

Brazil (-625) is predicted to win Group C at the World Cup. The current price implies a 86.2% probability that Carlo Ancelotti’s team finishes atop the group.

Morocco, which reached the semifinals at the 2022 World Cup, is +500 to win the group. Their price implies a 16.7% chance the AFCON side wins Group C.

Group C World Cup 2026 Prediction

Based on Brazil’s leaky defense and Morocco’s strong lead-in form ahead of the World Cup, I predict Morocco (+500) wins Group C.

It’s a little jarring to see the eighth-ranked team in the world given a 16.7% chance to win their group. In Qatar, Morocco won an easier group featuring Belgium as the Pot 1 team.

Most impressive during that semifinal run: Morocco’s defense. The AFCON side used a stout defense to move past Spain, Portugal and Belgium during the tournament.

All three UEFA powers failed to clear one post-shot expected goal against Morocco. The same is true across two meetings with Croatia in Qatar.

If there’s a cause for concern, it’s that 2022 World Cup manager Walid Regragui departed in March 2026. Mohamed Ouahbi took over after managing Morocco’s U23s.

The same transition occurred prior to the 2022 World Cup. It didn’t stop Morocco from emerging as the group winners.

Ultimately, my prediction is rooted in the fact that Brazil fails to win this group at the rate their odds imply. For a team priced as the biggest favorite in any group, Brazil showed signs of weakness.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side lost a March friendly to Japan. During World Cup qualifying, Brazil lost outright to Paraguay and drew Venezuela. The defense also leaked four goals at Argentina.

In the former fixture, Japan showed that Brazil’s defense is vulnerable against a good counter attack. The Samurai Blue controlled only 33% of the ball and still generated three big scoring chances.

Morocco exercised that exact strategy during the 2022 World Cup. Plus, dating back to January 2025, Morocco dropped all three points only once.

If that weren’t enough, Morocco is +400 to win against Brazil in their opening match. Yet they’re +500 to win the group? That doesn’t square with me, so I like the price on Morocco.
