The total cash purse of the first Memphis Classic is $283,347. That’s quite a bit less than what’s available in DC – a WTA 500 draw – which is north of $1 million.Â
The crowd will be cheering for No. 2 seed McCartney Kessler, who leads a small group of Americans in the draw that includes Caty McNally and Peyton Stearns. Ekaterina Alexandrova is the top seed and a likely tennis betting favorite on the traditional American hardcourt.Â
