The WBC interim lightweight title will be on the line on Jan. 10 as Jadier Herrera faces Ricardo Nunez inside the Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen, Germany.

With his unblemished record, Herrera heads into the title fight as the heavy betting favorite with -1660 boxing odds. Meanwhile, Nunez, the veteran contender, is going to be the +700 betting underdog. A draw result has odds of +2200.

Jadier Herrera vs. Ricardo Nunez: Prediction

I predict a TKO/KO finish for Herrera over Nunez, not only because he’s the younger and faster boxer, but he’s a great counterpuncher. That suits the fighting style of Nunez, who likes to march forward and pressure his opponents against the ropes.

Nunez likes to force the action against the opposition and shines in close-range exchanges, but Herrera remains a very calculated fighter in these exchanges. I think he’ll find the chin of Nunez with a looping left hook.

This same punch was landed by Gervonta Davis when he fought Herrera, and he instantly wobbled. Once Herrera lands this, it’ll almost be over for Nunez, especially since the undefeated Cuban contender is a southpaw fighter.

Jadier Herrera’s Recent Fight Results

Herrera is an undefeated contender from Cuba with an incredible 88% TKO/KO rate. In his last five outings, he defeated Ulises Suarez Ortega, Mariano Jorge Bertola, Andres Navarrete, Oliver Flores, and Jose Rudolf Macias Enriquez.

Ricardo Nunez’s Recent Fight Results

Nunez is a veteran contender who became famous by fighting Davis in July 2019. But in his last five bouts, he recorded three wins against Pablo Vicente, Jezzrel Corrales, and Jorge Batalla Martinez, while his losses were courtesy of Masanori Rikiishi and Jon Fernandez.
