  • A chance to buy low on the Mercedes Formula 1 team.
  • Bet this longshot to earn points at Circuit of the Americas.

After a brief hiatus, Formula 1 odds are back available for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix in Austin.

With only five races left in the 2023 season and the driver’s championship locked up by Max Verstappen – his third straight title – here’s how the outright odds shape up for Sunday’s race.

Additionally, prospective bettors can find my two betting predictions for Sunday’s grand prix below.

Formula 1 Betting Prediction No. 1

Mercedes Double Top-6 Finish (-155)

The Silver Arrows struggled in Qatar, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell colliding on the first lap.

That forced Hamilton to retire from the race, with Russell securing a P4 finish.

Truthfully, this bet is an angle on Russell, as Hamilton largely succeeded in races prior to his DNF.

Across the previous seven grand prix’s, Hamilton never finished worse than P6 and recorded four top-4 finishes.

Although Russell’s form over that same period isn’t nearly as consistent – only four top-six finishes – Mercedes is introducing upgrades this weekend that should benefit him.

Plus, Mercedes has excelled in races at correlative circuits – Japan, Great Britain and Miami.

In those races – as well as last year’s grand prix in Austin – both Mercedes crossed the line P6 or better in three.

For those reasons, back this market at -160 or better.

Formula 1 Betting Prediction No. 2

Kevin Magnussen Points Finish (+600, 0.2 units)

It has proved a long season for Magnussen, who has only three points finishes to his name this season.

On the bright side, one of those points efforts came in Miami, an aforementioned correlative circuit to the track at Circuit of the Americas.

That output came after Magnussen qualified P4 in Miami, his best output of the season.

Haas Formula 1 team also brings their first and only set of upgrades to Austin, their home grand prix.

With added aerodynamics, that should boost a car that performed very well at this track last year.

In 2022, Magnussen drove an outstanding race. After starting P16, he finished in P9 to secure points.

Given those trends, Magnussen offers good longshot value to earn points for the second straight year.
