Drafted eighth overall in the 2019 NFL draft, tight end T.J. Hockenson has quickly solidified himself as one of the best tight ends in the league.

The Minnesota Vikings tight end is locked into a four-year, $19,821,225 deal, including a $12,435,436 signing bonus, $19,821,225 guaranteed, and an average salary of $4,955,306.

In 2023, the Iowa alum will have a base salary of $9,392,000. Hockenson’s deal will allow him to become an unrestricted free agent in 2024.

T.J. Hockenson Potential Extension:

Hockenson has put himself among the top tight ends in the league since his rookie year in 2019. Hockenson finished his 2019 campaign with 86 receptions for 914 yards and six touchdowns.

The 6-foot-5 tight end has shown his ability to be an exceptional pass-blocking and receiving tight end. The rising star’s ability to consistently put up impressive numbers with underwhelming quarterback play throughout his career has been impressive. Hockenson will be set for a pay raise come extension time, and deservingly so.

Comparing his numbers, age, and production to other star tight ends in the league, Hockenson could be in line for a hefty contract in due time. The Hawkeye product could be in for a contract offer of four years, $57 million, and an annual salary of $14,250,000.

This would make Hockenson one of the highest-paid tight ends in the league.
