The exciting showdown between ranked light heavyweight contenders Azamat Murzakanov and Dominick Reyes will be part of the UFC 333 card on Saturday inside Etihad Arena on Yas Island, UAE.

Even though he’s fresh off a defeat in his last fight, Murzakanov is going to be the betting favorite with -225 UFC odds. Reyes, on the other hand, will be the +185 betting underdog despite coming off a bounce-back win.

UFC 333: Azamat Murzakanov vs. Dominick Reyes: Prediction

I predict a TKO/KO win for Murzakanov over Reyes because he’s the more powerful puncher despite giving up the physical traits. Murzakanov has proven he can close the distance and land clean power punches with high-level boxing.

Reyes isn’t known as a volume kicker, and I think that’s the only stylistic matchup that could give Murzakanov problems. Paulo Costa spammed Murzakanov with head kicks, which allowed him to finish him in their previous fight.

Furthermore, Reyes’ durability and chin have been compromised with multiple TKO/KO finishes, which made him gun-shy with his strikes. He also isn’t the fastest light heavyweight contender and has lost a step in his movement and timing.

Azamat Murzakanov’s Recent Fight Results

Murzakanov earned his UFC contract via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021. In his last five fights, he recorded four wins (Dustin Jacoby, Alonzo Menifield, Brendson Ribeiro, and Aleksandar Rakic) and one loss (Costa).

Dominick Reyes’ Recent Fight Results

Reyes was a former two-time UFC light heavyweight title challenger. He has four of his last five appearances inside the octagon, beating Dustin Jacoby, Anthony Smith, Nikita Krylov, and Johnny Walker, while losing to Carlos Ulberg.
