Ranked women’s strawweight contender Loopy Godinez looks to defend her position in the weight class, as she faces Ketlen Souza in the main card of UFC Vegas 122 on Saturday at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

As the rated fighter, Godinez is going to be the betting favorite with -235 UFC odds, while Souza, who’s on a two-fight win streak, will be the betting underdog with +190 odds.

UFC Vegas 122: Loopy Godinez vs. Ketlen Souza: Prediction

A decision win for Godinez is my prediction over Souza because she’s a more technical boxer and overwhelms opponents with volume. The jabs and quick cross punches will be her keys to victory over Souza because Godinez is quicker.

Though the one-punch knockout power leans more toward Souza, Godinez is a defensively responsible fighter. If Souza is a heavy kicker, it would be a different story, but because they have a similar boxing base, Godinez’s stinging jabs will be the key difference.

The only thing Godinez should worry about is Souza’s punching power, because she has legitimate one-punch knockout capability. If she overextends or makes a defensive mistake, she’ll pay a hefty price.

Loopy Godinez’s Recent Fight Results

Godinez was the former BTC and LFA champion before the UFC signed her in 2021. However, she has only scored two wins in her last five bouts, with victories over Julia Polastri and Jessica Andrade and losses to Virna Jandiroba, Mackenzie Dern, and Tatiana Suarez.

Ketlen Souza’s Recent Fight Results

Souza was the former Invicta titleholder before she made her UFC debut in 2023. She recorded three wins and two losses in her last five outings, defeating Yazmin Jauregui, Bruna Brasil, and Ariane Carnelossi, and losing to Angela Hill and Piera Rodriguez.
