For the first time since 1999, an undisputed boxing world champion was crowned after Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury on May 18 via split decision to collect all major belts in the division.

Usyk overcame his betting underdog role in boxing odds to score a massive upset in front of the sold-out crowd inside the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was the third fighter in boxing history to unify all belts in two divisions, as he previously unified the cruiserweight title.
