The SEC thumps its collective chest in virtually every varsity NCAA sport, claiming dominance from college football kickoff all the way through June.

While non-SEC fans often roll their eyes at such grandiose proclamations, it’s hard to argue against SEC supremacy in college baseball.

The SEC accounts for the last six national champions in college baseball. It landed more teams in the 2026 NCAA Tournament than any other conference. And at the conclusion of the regional round, the SEC had won a greater percentage of its games than any other major conference too.

This year presents a higher-than-usual opportunity for a non-SEC team to win the College World Series, thanks to strong ACC teams at the top like Georgia Tech and North Carolina. But as the chart below shows, the overall postseason dominance of the SEC remains impossible to ignore.
