Home Run Predictions Today: Tuesday, June 9

  • Texas Rangers SS Corey Seager vs. Royals (+410)

Who Will Hit a Home Run Today?

I’m predicting Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager will hit a home run on Tuesday night against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Seager returned to the lineup over the weekend after nearly a month off with a back injury. It looked like he never left, as his timing was in midseason form. He went 2-for-8 with one home run in two games before getting Sunday’s series finale off.

After consecutive days off, Seager should be well rested ahead of the opener against the Royals in Kansas City. He will face right-hander Stephen Kolek, who will throw a lot of fastballs and changeups to left-handed batters.

But the reason I’m backing Seager in the home run market has less to do with the matchup and more to do with the potential value. Ballpark Pal’s model projects Seager as the fourth-most likely player to hit a homer during Tuesday’s MLB slate, listing a fair price of +275.

The only explanation for Seager’s favorable price is his health, but I’m willing to back him in this market at +350 or better.
