The over has sucked in 2023 March Madness betting. Entering second-round games on Sunday, the over has hit in just 11 of 44 tournament games.

If you bet $100 on the over in each of those 44 games, you would’ve lost more than than $2,500 ROI of approximately 53%.

It’s the continuation of a trend – albeit at a dramatically worse rate – for over betting in the NCAA Tournament.

March Madness Over/Under Betting History

Since 2018, the over is 132-177 (.423) in tournament games. In four of those five tournaments, the over’s ROI was -10% or worse.

The over hasn’t had a profitable tournament since 2017 (+16%), one of only three tournaments since 2005 with an ROI of +1% or better.
