Josh McDaniels is the Patriots’ offensive coordinator for 2025.
By returning, McDaniels starts a third spell in Foxborough. He worked with the Patriots from 2001-08 and 2012-21:
- 2001-03: Personnel/Def. Assistant
- 2004-08, 2012-19: QB’s Coach
- 2006-08, 2012-21: OC
In between spells, McDaniels worked for two other teams. He served as the Broncos’ head coach in 2009-10. In 28 games, he finished 11-17.
McDaniels moved to St. Louis in 2011. For a year, he worked as the Rams’ OC and QB’s coach.
McDaniels’ offense thrived in his second Patriots spell. In 10 seasons, the Patriots ranked 10th or higher in points nine times.
Before the 2022 season, McDaniels took another HC job.
Las Vegas hired him as head coach, but he struggled. In 25 games, McDaniels finished 9-16.
Now, he looks to lift the Patriots’ offense. Last season, New England ranked 30th in points per game.
