Terry McLaurin is a consummate professional. A real pro’s pro. Whatever creative tagline you can come up with, it probably applies to Washington’s most incomparable receiver.

That’s because McLaurin has endured an unpleasant combination of humidity, muck, and suck since he was drafted by the then-Redskins in 2019. He signed a three-year extension in 2022.

But now, finally, Washington’s fortunes are looking up. The Commanders’ odds are back near the top of the NFC market thanks to the emergence of Jayden Daniels.

Now, McLaurin is looking for the next payday. Frankly, it’s one he deserves after working as the lynchpin of a bad offense for the last several years.

The Daniels-to-McLaurin connection could terrorize the NFL over the next few years – but only if Washington is willing to cut a new check.

Terry McLaurin Contract

Terry McLaurin signed a three-year extension with the Washington Commanders in 2022 worth $68.36 million.

That extension runs through the end of the 2025 season. Unless McLaurin is extended or given the franchise tag, he will be a free agent in the summer of 2026.

Terry McLaurin Signing Bonus

Terry McLaurin earned a signing bonus of $28 million after signing his 2022 extension.

Terry McLaurin Salary

Terry McLaurin could make $19.65 million from his NFL contract in 2025. That number breaks down to a $2.8 million guaranteed roster bonus and a $500,000 workout bonus, plus $850,000 for every game in which McLaurin is healthy enough to appear on the active roster.

The lack of guaranteed money for this season is likely a reason why McLaurin is seeking a new contract now. If he gets hurt, he’ll miss income from this year, but he’ll also have reduced bargaining power for his unresolved contract negotiation.
