Two years after reclaiming the Ryder Cup with a dominant performance in France, the European Team didn’t have the opportunity to begin a new winning streak with a 10th title in the last 13 years, nor did fans have the opportunity to bet on Ryder Cup odds.
One year after the event was postponed for just the second time since the Second World War, Ryder Cup betting is back as Steve Stricker and Padraig Harrington lead the United States and Europe, respectively, into the 2021 Ryder Cup.
Where is the 2021 Ryder Cup?
In its nearly 100 years of existence, the Ryder Cup has undergone several changes, including the selection process, schedule, and opponents for the United States. The alternating locations aspect has never changed, however.
Since the first Ryder Cup in 1927, the venue location has rotated between the United States and Europe. And despite the postponement from September 2020 to September 2021, that won’t change; Whistling Straits will host the 2021 Ryder Cup.
The 23-year-old links course near Sheboygan, Wisc., has previously hosted three PGA Championships, most recently in 2015, and the 2007 U.S. Senior Open.
How to Bet on Ryder Cup Odds
There won’t be a shortage of golf betting opportunities when the world’s best golfers arrive at Whistling Straits in late September. And you don’t have to wait until the first day of competition – Friday, September 26 – to bet on the Ryder Cup.
At the BetMGM sportsbook, you can view updated tournament winner odds for a United States’ win, European win, and tie. In the event of a tie, the Ryder Cup is retained by the team that previously held it before the tournament – in this case, the European Team – but that doesn’t apply to betting odds.
You can also bet on matches each day. Starting with the four foursome (alternate shot) matches and four fourball (better ball) matches on Friday and ending with the 12 singles matches on Sunday, a variety of golf odds are offered.
From parlays and live betting to exact final scores and lowest hole scores, BetMGM is your ticket for all Ryder Cup betting.
Ryder Cup Live Betting
Live sports betting is the best way to get closer to the action at Whistling Straits.
When the tournament begins on Friday morning, live golf betting opens at the online sportsbook. And it’s easy to place a live bet regardless of your golf knowledge and online sports betting experience.
While you’re watching Collin Moriwaka or Dustin Johnson, for example, compete against the European Team, you can place live bets on the tournament winner, the lowest score on the next hole, overall score after that day’s matches are done, and more.
