A crucial flyweight bout is slated at UFC 329 on Saturday, as ranked contenders Brandon Royval and Lone’er Kavanagh throw hands inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Due to his two-fight losing streak, Royval is going to be the betting underdog with +180 UFC odds, while Kavanagh, who’s coming off a win in his previous match, will be the -220 betting favorite.

UFC 329: Brandon Royval vs. Lone’er Kavanagh: Prediction

I predict a decision win for Kavanagh over Royval because he’s the more technical and disciplined fighter. Also, Royval seem to have problems fighting shorter opponents because when he throws his punches, he’s easily hit with sharp and quick counters.

Another big factor is the wide stance of Royval, as he’s very heavy on his lead leg. This is a perfect target for Kavanagh to chop it down from range. Kavanagh’s background as a kickboxer will be fully used on fight night.

Royval is a good fighter who uses his reach and leg reach advantages, but he often backs up against the fence and when he does, he leaves his chin wide open for boxing combinations. This happened against Manel Kape in his previous fight and I think it’ll happen more often against Kavanagh.

Brandon Royval’s Recent Fight Results

Royval was a former UFC flyweight title challenger. However, he has only won two fights in his last five bouts inside the octagon. His wins were against Brandon Moreno and Tatsuro Taira, while his losses were to Alexandre Pantoja, Joshua Van, and Kape.

Lone’er Kavanagh’s Recent Fight Results

Kavanagh was a product of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024, where he defeated An Tuan Ho via first-round stoppage. In four fights under the promotion, he recorded three wins (Jose Ochoa, Felipe dos Santos, and Moreno) and one loss (Charles Johnson).

UFC betting is a unique way to get closer to the action of the world’s biggest fights. And with live betting at the online sportsbook, the betting doesn’t stop when the fighters enter the octagon.
