Chase Hooper and Lance Gibson Jr. are looking to bounce back from their previous losses, as they are set to face each other this Saturday at UFC Seattle, which goes down inside Climate Pledge Arena.

As the fighter with more experience of competing inside the octagon, Hooper heads into the match as the betting favorite with -285 UFC odds, while Gibson Jr., who lost his promotional debut, is going to be the +230 betting underdog.

UFC Seattle: Chase Hooper vs. Lance Gibson Jr.: Prediction

With his better grappling, I predict a unanimous decision win for Hooper over Gibson Jr. Hooper should fully commit to his takedowns after he suffered a TKO/KO loss at the hands of Alexander Hernandez in his previous fight.

Gibson Jr. had a decent debut against King Green, but he was gun-shy of firing his punches because of the power that swung back his way. This time, I think Gibson Jr. will open a lot more, knowing that Hooper doesn’t have a one-punch knockout power.

But the wrestling and grappling of Hooper will still be the main catalysts in this bout, as he controls his opponents very well on the ground. Although Gibson Jr. has decent takedown defense, I think Hooper will still land significant strikes, especially when he secures the mount.

Chase Hooper’s Recent Fight Results

Hooper is a UFC veteran who has been with the promotion since 2019. He recorded four wins in his last five bouts, with victories over Jordan Leavitt, Viacheslav Borshchev, Clay Guida, and Jim Miller. But he lost his most recent fight to Hernandez via first-round stoppage.

Lance Gibson Jr.’s Recent Fight Results

Gibson Jr. was a former Bellator and ExciteFight standout before the UFC signed him last year. He was pitted against Green in December, but absorbed a close split-decision defeat. He now aims to record his first win under the Las Vegas-based promotion.
