Sportsbook Promos

The No. 6 Indiana Fever will try to stave off elimination when they host the No. 3 Las Vegas Aces at 6:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Prime Video.

Aces vs. Fever Prediction: Tuesday, Sept. 29

  • Fever -1.5 (-105)

I’m willing to lay the points with the Fever in a bounce-back spot on Tuesday following their 102-85 loss to the Aces in Game 1.

There is no reason to overreact to one game. The defending champions are capable of running anyone out of the gym on any given night in the postseason. But Tuesday’s Game 2 could feature a much different outcome.

For starters, the Fever typically play much better at home. Indiana went 15-7 at home during the regular season, ranking third in the league with a +10 net rating. The Fever’s scoring average is more than six points better at home compared to on the road.

As a result, I’m expecting Indiana’s stars to have a better showing than they did on Sunday. Caitlin Clark was held to 15 points on 6-of-17 shooting, while Kelsey Mitchell finished with 12 points on a 4-for-16 effort.

While the Fever’s stars can perform better, it will be difficult for Aces forward A’ja Wilson to have as good a night as she had in Game 1. Wilson went 15-for-19 from the floor, finishing with 38 points and 16 rebounds. Wilson is the greatest player in league history, but it’s difficult to bank on that level of shot-making again.

The Fever are short favorites for a reason after their blowout loss. I’d lay the points with them and consider taking a flier on their championship value, as the winner of this series could very well win the whole thing.

Prediction: Fever -1.5 (-105)
