  • The Dallas Wings went 22-18 last year to finish fourth in the WNBA.
  • Dallas has a win total of 19.5 entering the 2024 season.

Last season, the Dallas Wings earned their first playoff series victory since moving from Tulsa in 2016, but were ultimately swept by the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals.

Dallas aims to take the next step, but the latest odds at the online sportsbook expect this team to remain in the middle of the pack during the 2024 season.

Wings Futures Odds

Win total: 19.5
To make playoffs: -400
To miss playoffs: +300
Championship odds: +2500

The Wings went 22-18 last year to finish fourth in the WNBA standings. They ranked third in offensive rating.

The betting market is expecting a step back from last year, likely due to forward Satou Sabally being sidelined until late summer with a shoulder injury.

Sabally was the WNBA’s Most Improved Player last year, averaging 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

Wings 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: Over 19.5 Wins (-115)

Even with Sabally sidelined, this win total is a touch too low.

Arike Ogunbowale, 27, is just entering her prime after top-10 MVP finishes in four of her first five WNBA seasons.

Ogunbowale averaged 21.2 points on 39.8% shooting last year, slightly above her career average of 20.2.

Without Sabally, Dallas’ offense will follow Ogunbowale’s lead, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The Wings ranked fourth in offensive rating in 2022, even though Sabally only played in 11 games.

The market has overreacted to the Wings’ win total, and I like their chances of reaching 20-plus victories.

Depending on how soon Sabally returns to action, this Dallas team could have even more upside.
