Michael Conlan will welcome the challenge of undefeated challenger Kevin Walsh in their upcoming WBC International featherweight title showdown this Friday at the SSE Arena in Belfast.

After his title triumph in September, Conlan is the betting favorite with -370 boxing odds. The TKO/KO finish he had against Jack Bateson greatly helped him in his betting role heading into his championship match.

Meanwhile, Walsh is the +300 betting underdog, and a draw result for this title fight has +1200 odds.

Michael Conlan vs. Kevin Walsh: Prediction

I predict a TKO/KO finish for Conlan over Walsh because he’s the more technical and surgical boxer. He’s also very disciplined defensively and rarely overextends his punches. Conlan can connect an atomic left-hand punch against Walsh with his precision and explosiveness.

Walsh, although undefeated in his pro career, often leaves himself open to counters and strong jabs, as his hands are always down. This allows him to fire quick combinations, but he’s very vulnerable to punches swinging back his way.

Additionally, the American contender gets wild in exchanges and relies solely on his power. If this strategy and fight style are what he’ll bring against Conlan, he might be stopped early in the match, especially with Conlan’s pressure and composure.

Michael Conlan’s Recent Fight Results

Conlan is the reigning WBC International featherweight champion. In his last five matches inside the ring, he racked up three wins against Karim Guerfi, Asad Asif Khan, and Bateson, while his losses were courtesy of Luis Alberto Lopez and Jordan Gill.

Kevin Walsh’s Recent Fight Results

Walsh is an undefeated American boxing contender who captured several minor titles. His last five victories were against Irvin Gonzalez, Ricky de los Santos, Tramaine Williams, Angel Luna, and Jose Nunez Sosa.
