Nick Ball vs. Brandon Figueroa: Prediction
I predict a unanimous decision for Ball over Figueroa since he’s the much more aggressive fighter who walks down his opponents effectively. His constant pressure breaks opponents even if he’s disadvantaged in height and reach.
Figueroa may be the taller, longer, and more experienced fighter in championship fights, but I think Ball can force him to fight at close distance. Figueora tends to forget that he has the reach and height advantages in most of his fights, which removes this upper hand from him.
Unless the former super bantamweight world champion maximizes the 7-inch height and 7.5-inch reach edge against Ball with jabs and ring generalship throughout the fight, I still see Ball overwhelm him with volume.
Nick Ball’s Recent Fight Results
Ball is the current WBA featherweight titleholder who successfully defended the belt three times. He’s also an undefeated pro boxer. In his last five fights, he has defeated Rey Vargas, Raymond Ford, Ronny Rios, TJ Doheny, and Sam Goodman.
Brandon Figueroa’s Recent Fight Results
Figueroa is a former WBC super bantamweight champion. He has moved up to the featherweight division but came up short in capturing a world title. In his past five bouts, he has recorded victories over Carlos Castro, Mark Magsayo, Jessie Magdaleno, and Joet Gonzalez. His lone loss during this stretch was courtesy of Stephen Fulton.
