  • Manchester City defeated Red Star Belgrade on Matchday 1.
  • RB Leipzig secured all three points against Young Boys.
  • Will City dominate for a second straight meeting with Leipzig?

RB Leipzig and Manchester City reignite their head-to-head battle Wednesday as I’m set to provide a UEFA Champions League prediction.

Both teams earned maximum points on Matchday 1 in relatively dramatic fashion. City came from 1-0 down against Red Star Belgrade to win 3-1, while Leipzig replicated that scoreline against Young Boys.

These sides met in last season’s round of 16, with City advancing 8-1 on aggregate.

Here’s how the soccer odds shape up for Wednesday’s clash.

RB Leipzig vs. Manchester City Odds

  • Three-Way Moneyline: RB Leipzig (+333), Tie (+300), Manchester City (-135)
  • Total: Over/Under 2.5 Goals (-160/+115)
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes/No (-160/+110)

RB Leipzig vs. Manchester City Betting Prediction

Same-Game Parlay: Manchester City Double Chance & Under 3.5 Goals (-115)

Leipzig have run like Gods so far this season, making this a perfect spot to fade them.

The German side has a +10 goal differential in the Bundesliga this season. However, that comes against a -0.1 expected goal differential and +0.1 non-penalty expected goal differential, per fbref.com.

I want to respect their home performance against City back in February, but I think the best they can do is a draw.

Even if you set aside City’s 7-0 drubbing, manager Pep Guardiola’s side still won the expected goals battle in Germany 1.18-0.77, per fotmob.com.

With a rested Rodri returning to City’s lineup, the visitors should secure a point against an overperforming side.

At the same time, bettors should expect a low-scoring fixture Wednesday in Germany.

Across both legs last season, Leipzig created a mere 1.33 expected goals. Yet, they held City to the aforementioned total at home and just limited Bayern Munich to 1.57 non-penalty expected goals this weekend.

That should repeat against a City attack missing Kevin De Bruyne and (potentially) Bernardo Silva.

For those reasons, back this same-game parlay at -125 or better.
