Through the first eight years of the College Football Playoff, 24 games were played. Eighteen of those games were decided by at least 11 points, including all six in the last two years.

After two sensational semifinal games in 2022, the national championship was another blowout on Jan. 9, 2023, as Georgia obliterated TCU.
