Diamondbacks Win Total Prediction 2026

  • Over 79.5 wins

Based on the updated MLB betting lines, I like the over on the Diamondbacks’ win total for the 2026 season.

I think the market has underrated the Diamondbacks this preseason. They have typically had a high floor of late, posting 80-plus wins in six of their past eight full seasons. They’ve only made the playoffs twice over that span; such is life when playing the National League West division.

Still, Arizona has been relevant in September for the last few years. The Diamondbacks finished 80-82 last season after trading away Eugenio Suárez at the deadline and losing Corbin Burnes to injury.

At the start of this offseason, rumors about Ketel Marte being on the trade block led to a lower perception of this team. Marte appears to be staying put, keeping their potent trio at the top of the order between him, Corbin Carroll, and Geraldo Perdomo.

The Diamondbacks also traded for veteran third baseman Nolan Arenado, hoping for a rebound campaign after he posted his first sub-100 wRC+ season since 2020. According to RosterResource at FanGraphs, Arizona’s batters rank 11th in MLB in projected WAR for this upcoming season.

Arizona’s pitching projection is less optimistic, however. With Burnes sidelined, the D-backs will have Merrill Kelly leading a rotation that ranked 21st in WAR last year. I’d be surprised if the Diamondbacks see much improvement in the department, especially pitching in a division with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

But I’m not asking for a team to be perfect to clear a win total of 79.5. Given the talent and recent reputation of the Diamondbacks, I’m willing to bank on them being good enough to finish .500 or better.
