- Get the latest betting odds on the top favorites for MLB's MVP race in the AL and NL.
For the second year in a row, MLB had two unanimous MVP selections.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge secured his second American League MVP award, while Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani earned the National League honor.
This follows the 2023 season, when Ohtani (AL) and Ronald Acuรฑa Jr. (NL) were both unanimous MVPs โ the first time that had happened since MVP voting began in 1931.
Will the unanimous streak continue this season? Here’s a look at the latest MLB betting odds and predictions for the 2025 MVP race:

Julio Rodriguez | Mariners | +20000 | +4000 |
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is a huge favorite at -650 to win American League MVP in 2025 after entering the year with a +300 value. He started trading at minus-odds after clubbing four home runs during the opening weekend against the Milwaukee Brewers, including three in a 20-9 victory.
Judge remains the most dominant hitter on the planet following a jaw-dropping MVP campaign last season.
Judge led MLB in nearly every major offensive category last year, including home runs (58), RBIs (144), on-base percentage (.458), slugging percentage (.701), OPS (1.159), and walks (133). With his second MVP trophy (adding to his 2022 win), he became just the seventh player in Yankees history to earn multiple MVP honors.
Heโs now well on track to claim a third. Barring an injury or prolonged slump, Judge is the clear front-runner in this race.
Still, there are a few names to watch.
Cal Raleigh has emerged as a legitimate contender for the Mariners and could become the first catcher to lead the majors in home runs since 2021. Houstonโs Jeremy Peรฑa is climbing the ranks with a strong all-around season, and Bobby Witt Jr. โ last yearโs AL MVP runner-up โ continues to put up impressive numbers for the Royals.
Thereโs no shortage of talent in the American League, but right now, this is Judgeโs award to lose.
Prediction: Aaron Judge

If Shohei Ohtani can win MVP in a season where he doesnโt pitch, what chance does anyone have now that he’s back to being a two-way force?
Thatโs the key question after Ohtaniโs debut season with the Dodgers shattered expectations, especially for oddsmakers. He opened the year at +900 to win MVP, trailing Mookie Betts and Ronald Acuรฑa Jr., yet still emerged as the clear winner.
Ohtani has made a habit of defying logic. He became the first player ever to join the 50-50 club, launching 54 home runs and stealing 59 bases in 2024. Ohtani also became the first full-time designated hitter to win MVP and joined an elite group of players to win the award in both leagues.
Now that he’s officially returned to the mound, Ohtani is the clear betting favorite at -900 for a fourth MVP trophy as heโs poised to generate even more WAR as a two-way player.
Itโs tough to bet against him, though Chicago Cubs Pete Crow-Armstrong has been one of the more pleasant surprises this season. Juan Soto has started to put it together following a rough start with the New York Mets. Acuรฑa is back and looking healthy in Atlanta.
That said, this award belongs to Ohtani until further notice.
Prediction: Shohei Ohtani
