AL Cy Young Odds 2026: Favorites

Who Will Win AL Cy Young in 2026?

New York Yankees right-hander Cam Schlittler is the betting favorite in the updated AL Cy Young odds market. As of this writing, his -165 odds suggest an implied probability of 62.26%.

After opening the preseason at +4000, Schlittler has been one of the breakout players of the 2026 season. But Schlittler didn’t become the AL Cy Young favorite until early May, when Tarik Skubal had elbow surgery. Skubal had been the favorite since this market was released.

Skubal opened the year at +300 following back-to-back Cy Young wins, becoming the first repeat winner since Jacob deGrom in 2018 and 2019. The last American League pitcher to do so was Pedro Martínez in 1999 and 2000.

AL Cy Young Prediction 2026

Prediction: Cam Schlittler

It’s easy to get excited about Schlittler as the favorite. The 6-foot-6 righty is having a breakout campaign in his second MLB season after being selected in the seventh round of the 2022 draft out of Northeastern. Schlittler is 10-6 with a 2.19 ERA through 26 starts, whiffing 189 batters across 152 innings. He’s produced a bWAR of 5.1.

FanGraphs’ Cy Young award projections model has Schlittler claiming the trophy. Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Dylan Cease is still his primary challenger.

Best challenger: Dylan Cease
Value to watch: Sonny Gray
Long shot to monitor: Drew Rasmussen

NL Cy Young Odds 2026: Favorites

Who Will Win NL Cy Young in 2026?

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski is the betting favorite to win the National League Cy Young award. At -800, Misiorowski has an implied probability of 88.89%.

Misiorowski became the new favorite in mid-June, passing Philadelphia Phillies lefty Cristopher Sánchez at the top of this market. Misiorowski spun a complete-game shutout on June 12, while Sánchez gave up four runs on eight hits just two days later.

Before this mid-June shuffle, Sánchez and Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes had traded places as favorites. Sánchez had led this market since late May, though his first stint as the frontrunner came after the opening weekend of the 2026 campaign. Whenever Sánchez wasn’t on top of this market, Skenes led the way in the spring.

For context, there wasn’t much drama in the NL Cy Young competition last season. Skenes started as a +400 favorite and led the race for much of the year en route to winning the award. Skenes spun a 1.97 ERA in 32 starts. He recorded 216 strikeouts and 42 walks over 187 2/3 innings, resulting in a bWAR of 7.6.

Skenes became the first unanimous NL Cy Young winner since Sandy Alcántara in 2022 and just the fifth in the past two decades. He’s the third Pirates pitcher to win the award, joining Doug Drabek (1990) and Vern Law (1960).

NL Cy Young Prediction 2026

Prediction: Jacob Misiorowski

Misiorowski deserves to be a huge favorite at this point in the season. In his second MLB season, Misiorowski has established himself as one of the league’s more talented pitchers. It’s quite the success story for the Brewers, who drafted him in the second round in 2022 out of Crowder College.

So far this season, Misiorowski is 12-5 with a 1.75 ERA in 23 starts. The hard-throwing righty has whiffed 210 batters in 139 innings, generating a bWAR of 5.1. He’s the first person to have minus odds to win the NL Cy Young award at BetMGM, as it’s been a competitive market this season.

It’s worth monitoring Sánchez, Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, and Chase Burns this summer, especially if the Brewers are careful with Misiorowski.

Best challenger: Chris Sale
Value to watch: Cristopher Sánchez
Long shot to monitor: Zack Wheeler
