Guardians vs. White Sox Prediction: Game 3 ALDS

  • White Sox moneyline

The White Sox have not lost a game this postseason, posting a 4-0 road record. I expect them to maintain that momentum in their first home playoff game, especially considering they haven’t clinched a playoff series in front of their fans in 120 years.

Coming off three straight 100-loss seasons, the White Sox are suddenly one win away from advancing to the ALCS after winning the first two games of this series in Cleveland. They earned a 3-0 win in Game 1 and a 4-3 come-from-behind victory in Game 2.

The White Sox have been baseball’s best story this season. They can punch their ticket to the ALCS for the first time since 2005 after going 162-324 between 2023-25. With an important offseason of CBA negotiations on the horizon, this team proves the biggest edge in baseball is hitting on young players with years of team control.

Meanwhile, the Guardians are staring down another disappointing postseason result. Since their loss in the 2016 World Series, the Guardians are 2-7 over their past nine playoff series.

Cleveland’s offense remains the biggest issue in October. The Guardians have managed three runs on seven hits, including just two extra-base hits.

This game could turn into a slugfest, given the available pitchers. Daniel Espino will open for Cleveland, while Chicago will start Sean Newcomb. In a game featuring more offense, I’ll side with the White Sox to prevail.
