The beauty of a dunk is often in the eye of the beholder. Some people like the teamwork of a successful lob. Others may prefer the degree of difficulty behind a trick dunk worked into a live game. Nearly everyone likes a good poster dunk.

With the 2024 NBA season drawing to a close, I combed back through the season highlights looking for some of the most universally beloved dunks.

Here are the results – the best dunks of the 2024 NBA season.

Best NBA Dunks: Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards threw down the likely dunk of the season a couple of months ago in Utah. (I still can’t tell if he actually got hurt here, or if he’s doing a bit about what a dangerous weapon his hand is.)

Best NBA Dunks: Malik Monk

Just a few days into the season, Malik Monk caught an inside dime from De’Aaron Fox and unleashed an absolute bomb over Kris Dunn.

Best NBA Dunks: LeBron James

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but LeBron James had a big, head-of-steam dunk in a basketball game.

Best NBA Dunks: Paulo Banchero

Paul Banchero hit the Raptors with a vicious right-down-Main-Street slam.

Best NBA Dunks: Anthony Edwards (Again)

After Edwards picked up his dribble and got stuck too far from the basket, he opted to throw the ball off the backboard, then go yam it himself. It is indeed the year of the Ant-Man.

Best NBA Dunks: Jonathan Kuminga

It’s not the most visually impressive dunk you’re going to see on this list, but I love this sequence where Jonathan Kuminga strokes a three from the wing, reads the first pass of the Grizzlies’ next possession, jumps the lane, steals the ball, then dunks it with his left hand on the runout.

Best NBA Dunks: Jalen Green

A lot of hoops fans will remember this full extension from Houston’s Jalen Green back in November.

However, I actually like his dunk from January better. He splits two defenders by going behind his back, cuts through the paint, and smashes the rim over Trey Murphy.
