Longest-Tenured College Basketball Head Coaches

Greg Kampe is the longest-tenured head coach in Division I college basketball. The Oakland head coach took over the Golden Grizzliesโ€™ program in 1984.

Some long-established coaches have been in their current position for decades, but their current position hasnโ€™t necessarily been a Division I job for their entire tenure.ย 

That includes Kampe, as Oakland only moved to Division I in 1997.

It also includes Mercyhurst head coach Gary Manchel. The Lakers are one of several teams currently ineligible for the NCAA Tournament because of an ongoing transition to Division I.ย
